Biography

Lou Lenzi, FIDSA

Prior to retiring from GE in 2016, Lou’s entire 36-year career has centered on design, business strategy, and innovation leadership in large multi-national corporations, including IBM, RCA, GE Healthcare, and GE Appliances. He has led multi-disciplinary, global product design teams in the fields of IT, Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances, and Medical Systems.

Lou is currently Professor of Practice at IUPUI’s School of Informatics and Computing in the Department of Human-Centered Computing. Lou’s focus is on preparing graduate-level students in the Human-Computer Interaction curriculum for leadership opportunities in the emerging Internet-of-Things (IoT) space.

Breakout Session Title: Methods for Innovation in IoT Systems

Just as human-centered design and design thinking methodologies have transformed traditional businesses and business models, these same processes will accelerate the deployment of innovative new IoT ecosystems, transforming a broad spectrum of industry verticals. Lou will illustrate these processes and methods using a series of case studies created through industry-sponsored coursework within IUPUI’s School of Informatics and Computing.
