Carol Curran is the founder and CEO of Phoenix Data Corporation, a woman-owned business developing innovative technology solutions for business and government. Phoenix provides certified hosting solutions for the ultimate in data security, infrastructure and control required for Federal government agencies and contractors to securely handle confidential, top secret data. The company’s business processing services include document imaging and scanning, document management and electronic records, call center/help desk and mailroom operations. Phoenix also offers expert engineering and information technology services, planning and optimization, and training and workforce development.

Carol’s history of growing successful, entrepreneurial businesses includes two prior technology companies, ETC and Curran Data Technologies. Realizing the potential for growth for female-owned technology firms, she founded Phoenix Data Corporation in 2001 and acquired key business certifications for access to opportunities. Certified as a woman-owned business (WBE), a small disadvantaged business (SDB), and 8(a)GWAC, Phoenix has 63 employees at job sites in Indiana, Missouri, and Ohio, plus a training site at the U.S. Naval Base at Point Mugu, California. Carol’s initiative and drive has achieved exponential growth and numerous contracts with the State of Indiana, health care and logistics partners, and the United States Department of Defense.

Carol Curran has been recognized with a 2017 Torchbearer’s Award from the Indiana Commission for Women, chosen one of three National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) WBO of the Year Finalists in 2016, honored as the Technology Entrepreneur of the Year (USA) in the 2016 Influential Businesswoman Awards, featured in an Enterprising Woman magazine article in 2015, a recipient of the Indianapolis Business Journal 2013 Women of Influence Award, featured in the 2011 edition of the Women’s Advantage Calendar, named 2009 Woman Business Owner of the Year by the Indianapolis Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO-Indianapolis) and a winner of the 2008 Enterprising Women of the Year award by Enterprising Women Magazine.

Carol is a Past President of the Indianapolis Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO-Indianapolis). She is an Advisory Board Member for the international publication, Enterprising Women magazine, and a Board Member for the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. Carol is an active member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), Women in Defense and the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), and has served on the National Advisory Board of Key4Women as part of KeyCorp’s focus on women in business.
